I've reached that age when buying fancy phones and gadgets are no longer fun especially when technology changes so rapidly and there's so much you can do with it...
Now watches... at least I can wear it on a daily basis for many years and have a few would allow me to change to whatever suits the occasion.
The watch that really got me to do a lot of research on was the Longines Flagship Heritage, which I discovered, was really quite difficulty to find in sunny island Singapore. I've been going back and forth to Vincent Watch shop at Tampines Mall just to admire the watch and tried to compare it with other watches in the shop.
The simplicity, clean, and elegant look of the watch was just too good to pass. In the end, I got it after 3 weeks of deliberation and boy was I so pleased with my purchase.
It's not so loud or "oldie" looking for a a mid-30 year old guy like me. After wearing my Rolex Explorer II for a couple of weeks, I realised that my wrist size of about 7 inches is best suited to watch case sizes of no more than 40mm. The Longines Flagship Heritage (LFH) is 38.5mm... almost perfect on my wrist!
Other factors that attracted me to the watch are the gold plated daughne hands, gilt hour markers, second-hand sub dial, cream dial and of course the date. I would have like a see-through back case to view the movement but I can live without one. Besides, the rear case is so well designed with the blue on gold emblem! I also love the dark-brown alligator strap! Winding the watch and changing the date is silky smooth.
Overall, I'm happy with the LFH and it will be my daily wearer to the office!
