As mentioned earlier, there are 8 lessons (or modules), 4 classes of Basic Theory, 4 classes of Riding Theory and 3 classes of Defensive Theory that I would need to clear before I can take the Traffic Police Practical Test.
I was the only 1st timer for Lesson 1 so I had the lone exclusive right to learn the basics of riding the Yamaha YBR 125cc motorbile from my instructor for about 15 minutes. I later learned that if there are many 1st timers for the first lesson, chances are you won't get to progress much for Lesson 1. Lucky me!
My instructor gave me the green light to join the rest by riding round the warm-up area. I was a rather clumsy at using the clutch and changing gears... after several rounds on the warm-up circuit at gear #3, we then went out onto the main circuit where we were able to go up to the highest gear (i.e. gear 5)... it was a lovely feeling being able to go fast around the circuit... we had to stop at one section of the circuit to practice braking and changing gears.. again, I was clumsy with the gears... basically, you need to do the following when stopping: (1) use front and rear brake, (2) clutch, (3) kick gear down to 1st (4) full stop... something like that...
After about 90 minutes of lesson, we went back to the reporting counter where we got back our course booklet. Not surprisingly, I failed my lesson, getting only 1 stamp out of 4. It's ok... few 1st timers who don't have riding experience won't pass the 1st lesson in one attempt.
Now, this is where I realised that I should not book one lesson at a time. I have to wait for about 2 weeks for another opening slot! I should have booked at least 2-3 lessons of Lesson 1 in one go. In case I failed, I can go for the next lesson without having to wait that long...
I also found out later that you can get an opening of slots on most weekdays during the day time... so do go online and check if there's an available slot, especially on a weekend.
